Colourful paint fight spectacular in Thetford has another bright year
Hundreds of people enjoyed a splash of colour in the sunshine during this year’s Fuzion Thetford family day last weekend.
The town’s Melford Common was the setting for the successful sixth year of the event.
Sharon Wing, one of Fuzion’s organisers, said: “It is always so rewarding to see our months of hard work and planning come together to form such a fantastic event.
“The atmosphere was wonderful, we were totally overwhelmed by the support of the local community and are really looking forward to announcing this year’s fund-raising total at our annual cheque presentation on October 13.”
The event has raised £39,143 over the years for various charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital and the BigC.
The recipient charities this year will be East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, pregnancy loss charity TimeNorfolk and St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Activities on the common included various craft stalls, children’s entertainers, inflatables, live music and even dinosaurs.
The main arena hosted a Scruffs dog show and a motorbike display from motorcycle stunt man, Jeff Hibbs.
In the afternoon, around 150 people took part in a group Zumbathon before the hugely popular event finished with the annual Holi-style paint party, where people of all ages took part in a powdered paint fight in the arena.
