West Suffolk Hospital has introduced new visiting guidelines to limit the spread of infectious diseases in the light of coronavirus.
It is asking the public to limit visiting inpatients at the hospital.
Those who do visit are being asked to follow this guidance:
- One visitor per adult inpatient per day, ideally one individual to be the allocated visitor per adult inpatient where possible
- No children under 16 years should visit the hospital site unless they are receiving care themselves
- A woman in labour may only have a partner or a birthing partner in attendance
- A child who is a patient may have two parents or responsible carers in attendance
- If you have a high temperature and/or a new continuous cough please do not visit the hospital, but do self-isolate at home following national guidance – see the guidance here
- Discretion will be applied on compassionate grounds by the nurse/midwife in charge.
