Crews called to thatched property in Great Ashfield to tackle fuse box fire

Firefighters have been called to the scene of a house blaze in a Suffolk village this morning.

Crews from Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket responded to reports of the fire at a thatched cottage on Daisy Green in Great Ashfield at about 11.04am.

A fire service spokesman said the fire was in a fuse box, and it did not spread to the roof of the cottage.

He said the firefighters isolated the fire to just the electrics and everyone in the property got out safely.

Four fire engines had been on the scene and a stop to the incident was made at 12.34pm.
