Lakenheath Cricket Club bowled over by £2,000 donation from Persimmon Homes
A Suffolk cricket team has been given a donation of £2,000 from a nearby housing developer.
Lakenheath Cricket Team were given the money by Persimmon Homes, which has just launched a show home at its Liberty Gate development in the village, near to where the team play.
The housebuilder made the donation through its Community Champions programme.
Rory Palmer, of Lakenheath Cricket Club, said: “We would like to thank Persimmon for this donation, that will help us ensure our nets are in good condition for those practicing throughout the season, and repair our screens to give players and visitors a better experience.
“The club brings people together from the village and we are looking forward to welcoming potential new members from Liberty Gate in coming years.”
