West Suffolk Deaf Children’s Society event in Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, raises £400 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People




A Bury S Edmunds charity basked in the glorious weekend weather as its fund-raising event accrued £400.

Faces old and new descended on the Bury Deaf Association, in Northgate Street, on Saturday, to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The event saw businesses and charities connect to spread awareness and learning to better the lives of those living with deafness.

Tracy Pym-Hember, West Suffolk Deaf Children’s Society chairperson, said: “On behalf of myself and the committee, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along; to all the table holders and those whose sent us information to display and cake donations.

“I would also like to make a special thank you to our VIPs on the day – Margo and Linus, Jennifer, Tony and Mario from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and to Deputy Mayor, Cllr Donna Higgins. People visiting learned so much and your support means a lot.”

The event raised £400.05 in total.
