Humber Doucy Brew Co, with even its name inspired by a road in Ipswich, is a family-run business set on championing the county with all its beers brewed in the Suffolk countryside.

Alkemy sugar beet spirit

Nothing quite says ‘Bury St Edmunds’ like the humble sugar beet — so we are sure that a multi-award winning spirit made from the stuff would be a welcome addition under any Christmas tree this year.

Alkemy Distillery, founded by brothers Will and Rob Tapster in November 2022, is made in the same way as rum, but uses sugar beet molasses instead of sugar cane, making it the only UK-grown rum in the world.

If you would like to buy a bottle and share the unique taste of Alkemy with your friends, click here to view the website.
