Dino Easter Hunt Trail kicks off in Bury St Edmunds town centre with more than 40 businesses taking part

Families are being invited to take part in a free dinosaur themed egg hunt as the Easter holidays approach.

The Dino Easter Hunt Trail kicks off on Wednesday, March 27 with more than 40 businesses in Bury St Edmunds taking part.

Families can wander around the town centre to find 10 eggs located in shop windows to be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win an Easter hamper.

The event has been organised by Bury St Edmunds Business Improvement District (BID) and chief executive Mark Cordell said he is looking forward to it.

He said: “In the past we have hosted trails around the town and they have been very successful.

“We thought we would try something a little bit different this year so that’s why we decided on the dinosaur theme.

“It’s going to be great and we want to bring families into the town during the school holidays to have a bit of fun, free of charge.

“It will also hopefully bring in some additional footfall into our businesses and gives people a chance to visit shops they might not normally go to.”

The dinosaur theme is being linked with an event held on Wednesday, April 10 where life size dinosaurs will be visiting the market.

Each business on the trail will have a poster and dino egg numbered one to 10 displayed in their window until Sunday, April 7.

The location of each egg will need to be listed on a competition form which can be found inside any of the participating businesses and also can be found in the next three editions of the Bury Free Press.

Completed forms should be returned to one of the businesses or to the Our Bury St Edmunds office in Woolhall Street.

Three winners will be announced on April 8.
