Green Fair returns to Bury St Edmunds thanks to West Suffolk Hive, Sustainable Bury and Happy Planet Heroes
The Bury St Edmunds Green Fair returned with a bang at the weekend as four times the expected number of visitors turned out to celebrate all things eco-friendly.
Organised by Steph Holland from the West Suffolk Hive Community Interest Company, in partnership with Sustainable Bury and Happy Planet Heroes, the event saw 400 people descend on The Apex on Sunday to peruse stalls and take part in activities.
With 28 stalls set up and a waiting list of many more organisations which wanted to take part, Steph said she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the community’s response to the fair.
“We wanted to do something to around environmental changes everyone can make and where like minded businesses and people could gather together,” she said.
“Feedback has been so positive and the atmosphere on the day was amazing. I’m astonished at how many people wanted to be involved.”
Steph hopes to hold two Green Fairs per year, with plans already in place to hold the next one on June 13.
