EDITOR’S COMMENT: It’s foul by name and foul by nature
Imagine the scene: You’ve got little Johnny up, had breakfast, dressed and got all his kit ready for the Sunday morning football match (after finally finding those boots).
But you arrive at the playing field to be greeted with an area littered with dog poo which you have to clear before the youngsters can kick a ball in anger.
It’s a scenario played out (no pun intended) across the UK and acknowledges that the majority of dog owners are responsible and maligned by the irresponsible few. But it’s the few who always make the major impact.
Residents living near two pitches in Bury St Edmunds are trying to sort their issues with fencing – but it’s a problem we can all help to resolve.
If you see a dog fouling and the owner not cleaning up, report it. You can call Forest Heath council on 01638 719000 or St Edmundsbury via 01284 763233.
We’ve come a long way with cleaning up after our pets – but this is one foul habit we could well do without.
