Elderly woman has bag snatched in Bury St Edmunds
An investigation has been launched after an elderly woman had her handbag snatched in Bury St Edmunds this morning.
Police say the incident happened at 11.20am today on the footpath behind the nature reserve on Spring Lane, when a man approached the woman and stole the bag out of the front basket of her mobility scooter.
The man, who ran off towards Beetons Way, was then pursued by a cyclist, who managed to retrieve the bag.
However, a quantity of cash and a mobile phone were then found to be missing.
The offender is described as white, slim and aged in his early 20s. He was wearing a blue and grey hooded top with light and dark blue patched jeans.
