An emergency road closure is still in place along a key Bury St Edmunds route.

Anglian Water is working on site in Mount Road - at the roundabout with Orttewell Road - with the closure potentially in place until Wednesday, according to one.network

The closure started yesterday morning. A diversion is in place along Orttewell Road, Skyliner Way and Lady Miriam Way.

This morning, only traffic heading towards parts of the Moreton Hall estate and Thurston was affected by the closure. Drivers travelling towards Bury along Mount Road were able to pass the roadworks.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Mount Road is partially closed while our technicians repair an urgent leak on the exit of the roundabout.

“We’re grateful to residents and road users for their patience while we get this section of the road up and running again.”
