B1113 near Needham Market reopens after man suffers 'serious leg injury' in collision




A man was taken to hospital with a 'serious leg injury' after a collision between a car and pick-up lorry near Needham Market.

Police, the fire service and paramedics were alerted to the incident at about 1.05pm at The Woodlands, off the B1113 Stowmarket Road, in Badley.

A fire service spokesman said three crews attended and rescued a person trapped inside the car.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said two people suffered injuries with one believed to be 'serious'.

They were taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed at the A1120 junction for a few hours, but has since reopened.

A spokesman for Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) said they treated a man who suffered a 'serious leg injury'.

The SARS clinicians sedated him before accompanying him by land ambulance to hospital.

He said another man was also treated at the scene for chest injuries and taken by land ambulance to hospital.

The East of England Ambulance Service said two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and two ambulance officer vehicles attended.
