Emergency services attend Eastgate Street, in Bury St Edmunds, to rescue man from river





Emergency services have rescued a man from a river in Suffolk town.

Police, fire and the ambulance service were called to Eastgate Street, in Bury St Edmunds, at around 9pm.

It followed reports that a man was stuck in the river next to the street.

Two engines were dispatched to the scene.

It does not appear that the man was injured, a spokesperson for the fire service said.
