Easter bin collection changes confirmed for residents in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Newmarket, Stowmarket and Needham Market




Councils across Suffolk have announced changes to bin collections due to the Easter bank holidays.

In West Suffolk, including Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Haverhill, changes will come into effect from tomorrow (Good Friday).

Residents who would usually have their bins collected tomorrow will instead have them collected on Tuesday.

Changes will then be in place until after the early bank holiday, on May 5.

A normal service will then resume on Monday, May 12.

Cllr David Taylor, cabinet member for operations at West Suffolk Council, said: β€œWe truly appreciate the support of West Suffolk bin-fluencers in reminding friends, family and neighbours to put their bins out.

β€œWe also encourage residents to continue recycling and reducing waste.”

Mid Suffolk District Council

Those living in mid Suffolk, including Stowmarket and Needham Market, have been urged by the council to check for bin day changes online.

Mid Suffolk District Council said bin collections due tomorrow, and throughout the week starting April 21, will take place a day later than usual.

Babergh District Council

Those living in Sudbury, Hadleigh, and the rest of the Babergh District, will see a one day delay in the collection of their bins.

Bin collections will return to a normal schedule from Monday, April 28.

Residents can check their bin day by searching for β€˜bin’ on the Babergh District Council website.

Ipswich Borough Council

Ipswich Borough Council said there will be no changes to bin collections this week, including tomorrow.

Bin collection days can be checked online and updates will be posted on the council’s Facebook page.

East Suffolk Council

Those living in East Suffolk, including Felixstowe and Lowestoft will see no changes to their bin collections over the Easter period.

The council has told residents to put out their bins before 6am on their usual collection day.
