A Suffolk road has been blocked in both directions by a fallen tree.

The Street, in Fornham All Saints, near Bury St Edmunds, is blocked to motorists after a large tree fell near the All Saints Hotel.

Taz Clarke, who lives nearby, said workmen arrived at around 9am to put signs up and returned around 1pm to clear the tree.

It comes after heavy showers battered the county last night, causing flooding in some areas.

A flood alert was also issued for the River Deben from Debenham, to and including Bromeswell, and the River Lark from Clopton to Martlesham.
