Folk Café and The Flower Hut in Fornham St Martin near Bury St Edmunds to host Festive neighbour market in aid of GeeWizz

Local goods, food, music and fun will be on offer at a festive market this week in aid of those with life-changing illnesses.

The Folk Café and The Flower Hut, known as Flower Folk, will set up stalls at its premises in Fornham Business Court, just outside Bury St Edmunds, this Sunday.

From 11am until 6pm, visitors can eat, drink and be merry at a neighbour's market with an emphasis supporting local people and businesses.

Money made will go toward GeeWizz – with each stall owner making a donation – a charity that helps children and adults with disabilities or illnesses such as cancer, which is also based on the site.

The market would provide the perfect place to do any gift shopping in time for Christmas.

Sticking true to the theme of a neighbour's market, each stall will be run by an independent business from the area.

These include Bury-based Vino Gusto and Wooster's Bakery, Artefact Brewing, based in Ixworth, Go Ape, near Thetford, and My Best Friend's Wardrobe from Thurston.

GeeWizz will also have its own stall, and all the businesses chipped in for a raffle prize.

Ali Barker from Folk Café said choosing the charity was a 'no-brainer' as it was a cause that meant a lot to local businesses.

She added: "They do incredible work for children and young adults living with a disability, life limiting illness or cancer.

"The market will showcase and support many local makers and creators who are doing incredible things in Suffolk.

"We can’t wait to drink, eat, shop, and kick off the festive season and we hope people from the community will join us."
