Channel 4's The Great believed to be filming at Elveden Hall

A Suffolk country estate has once again opened the doors to its historic hall as a filming location this week, but this time it is believed to have a rather royal theme.

Elveden Hall has recently been used for scenes of Netflix's action spy thriller Heart of Stone, starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan as well as for the BBC's new show SAS: Rogue Heroes, starring Connor Swindells, Alfie Allen and Dominic West.

But with signs up around the village for crew, cars, technical team and the location, it is believed that this time filming is for the third season of Channel 4's hit TV show, The Great.

Starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, the multiple Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated comedy drama is loosely based on Catherine the Great, the last empress of Russia.
