Fire crews called to large muck heap smouldering for more than 15 hours in Great Livermere




Firefighters have been at the scene of a muck heap on fire in a Suffolk village since yesterday afternoon.

Six crews attended the incident involving a large muck heap in Bury Road, Great Livermere, after Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 5.07pm.

A spokesman said the waste was burning slowly and crews removed material from around the fire.

They have remained on the scene to allow the fire to burn out and were still there as of 8.11am.

Crews created fire breaks and dampened around the area of the smouldering heap.
