Firefighters attend 'small fire' at Brandon Country Park

Fire crews attended a Suffolk beauty spot this afternoon after a report of a small fire on the site.

Units from Thetford, Mildenhall, Brandon and Newmarket were initially called to Brandon Country Park, in Bury Road at just after 2.30pm, with the former two stood down.

A spokesman said: "The two units from Brandon and Newmarket used an extended hose reel and beaters to deal with the small fire.

"Though the stop time was recorded at 4.47pm, the unit from Brandon currently remains on the scene to dampen down and ensure the fire has been extinguished fully."
