Bury St Edmunds firefighters called to 'small fire' at West Suffolk Crematorium

Firefighters were called to a 'small fire' at West Suffolk Crematorium near Bury St Edmunds this morning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at 7.35am at the crematorium, in Risby, and two crews from Bury attended.
A spokesman said: "There was a small fire in the area immediately surrounding the burners on site with combustible material.
"The crews monitored the fire until it burnt itself out as part of the cremator burn process."
He added that 'everything was made safe' by 9.17am.
