Huge blaze near Brandon Country Park extinguished as crews stepped down

Firefighters from Suffolk and Norfolk battled a huge blaze near Brandon Country Park earlier today.
Crews from Newmarket, Brandon, Methwold, Mildenhall, Ixworth and Thetford were called to help extinguish the 200 x 200 metre fire in undergrowth in London Road, near North Court bend, at around 12.38pm.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said police had been asked to attend to help with traffic management, but a spokesperson for the force said there were no issues with the traffic.
The fire service spokesperson added a misting unit was used.
A stop time was called at 3.51pm. The incident has now been passed to the Forestry Commission.
