Bury St Edmunds firefighters rescue cat from tree after it escapes during trip to vets
Firefighters rescued a cat up a tree the 'height of a two storey house' after it escaped during a trip to the vets.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue was alerted to the incident, in Boldero Road, Bury St Edmunds , at 11.51am.
A spokeswoman said: "The cat had escaped from its carrier when visiting the vets, and the tree was approximately the height of a two storey house."
However, the owner decided to wait a bit longer to see if the cat would come down of its own accord.
It wouldn't come down and the fire service received a further call with two crews from Bury St Edmunds attending.
An aerial appliance was used to reach the cat, which was rescued by 1.43pm.
