Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Long Melford fire crews rescue cow stuck in a wartime pillbox





Fire crews came to the aid of a cow yesterday after it got stuck in a wartime guard post.

Firefighters from Sudbury and Long Melford were called to the meadows in Brundon Lane, Sudbury, at 3.34pm where the cow was trapped in the pillbox.

Specialist animal rescue crews from Bury St Edmunds Fire Station were also called.

They were able to strap the cow and lift it to safety.
