Bury St Edmunds firefighters rescue snake trapped in children's pool

Firefighters helped rescue a grass snake trapped in a children's pool in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted by the RSPCA to help with the incident, in Compiegne Way, at 6.40pm last night.

A spokesman said: "A grass snake had made its way into a kids' pool and was unable to get out.

"The snake was safely captured and removed from the pool."

One crew from Bury attended and the snake was rescued by 6.56pm.
