Residents in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Sudbury and Ipswich wake up to first snow of 2025




Residents across Suffolk woke up to a winter scene this morning as the county experienced its first snowfall of 2025.

Snow has been spotted in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Sudbury, Ipswich, Stowmarket and elsewhere as temperatures plummeted overnight.

This follows a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office which will remain in place until midnight.

The weather experts have said there is a small chance that power cuts will occur and that there is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off.

Travel disruptions are possible, including delays on roads, stranded vehicles and potential cancellations or delays in rail and air services.
