First trench dug for Suffolk Park warehouses

Construction has begun on the latest phase of the Suffolk Park development.

Two warehouses are being built on the new business park to the east of Bury St Edmunds.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council leader John Griffiths helped dig the first trench of the 350,000 sq ft buildings on a 19 acre plot.

These are being built by Readie Construction Ltd and are expected to be ready for occupation in November.

The £13 million project is in two units measuring 147,241 sq ft and 206.491 sq ft and will be available to rent by logistic companies and business owners.

This follows a ground breaking event for Festool, currently located at Saxham Business Park, which is re-locating to the new development. Treatt PLC has also purchased a site on the park to bring its UK operations under one roof.

Cllr Griffiths said: "These two new units will help provide a range of opportunities both for existing local businesses looking to expand and for businesses outside the area wishing to relocate to West Suffolk."

Hazells Chartered Surveyors and Savills are letting agents for the 114 acre park which is being delivered by Jaynic.
