Flood alert issued for Little Ouse and River Thet as water levels rise

A flood alert is in force on the Little Ouse and River Thet in Suffolk and Norfolk, after river levels rose due to heavy rainfall.

Flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible today.

It is expected flooding could affect the Little Ouse River from Rickinghall to Hockwold, including The Black Bourn and River Thet from Attleborough to Thetford.

No further rainfall is forecast, but river levels are expected to remain high for the next few days, with the highest river levels throughout today.

Pedestrians are advised to avoid using low lying footpaths near watercourses, while motorists are being told to plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
