Four abnormal loads weighing combined total of 240 tonnes take to Suffolk roads





Four abnormal loads including two boats will be travelling on Suffolk roads this week.

The first is a 44,000kg static home which will be making its way from Omar Homes in London Road, Brandon to Chelmsford.

It will be travelling tomorrow at 2pm on the A1065, A11 and A14 and will be escorted by Suffolk Police to the Cambridge border.

On Thursday, a plant from Sizewell C, weighing 101,000kg, will be on the roads from 9:30am.

It is being taken to Aylesbury using Lover’s Lane, B1122, A12, A1145, A146, A143, A146, A47, A149 and A10.

It will also be escorted by Suffolk Police to the A47 in Norwich.

A boat will be moved from Quy Water Bridge in Cambridge to Ipswich Haven Marina on Friday at 9am.

The vessel weighs 59,000kg and will be following a route from A1303 Cambridge Border via Newmarket.

Another boat weighing 44,000kg is being transported from Rectory Road, Ashmanhaugh, to Hampshire.

It will be on the road from 8am on Sunday and using the A1151, A149, B1152, A1064, A47, A11 and A14 to the Cambridge border.
