Freddie Montgomery invites community to signing of her book, The Life of a Girl Called Fred, at Hanover Court, in Elmswell
A 96-year-old who was one of the first members of the Women’s Royal Army Corps is inviting people to the launch of a book about her life.
Freddie Montgomery, of Elmswell, near Bury St Edmunds, is excited to meet members of the community, at her book signing on Saturday, November 9.
The author said she had been ‘nagged’ into writing her life story by friends and family who love to hear her fascinating tales.
Now her book, called The Life of a Girl Called Fred, is available to buy on Amazon.
The former lecturer and minister has written about her memories of the start of World War Two and being brought up by her mother and grandmother.
She also recalls joining the military and being posted to Berlin during the time of the blockade, when an air lift was set up to get essential supplies into the city.
The book signing will take place in the communal lounge at Hanover Court, Elmswell, from 10am - 1pm.
