Jade Skill and Chris Curran, of Bury St Edmunds, raise more than £3,000 with Brave the Shave event at Greene King Social Club
A pair of friends have raised thousands of pounds after braving the shave for charity.
Jade Skill and Chris Curran, both of Bury St Edmunds, faced the clippers on Saturday at the Greene King Social Club, with Jade losing her hair and Chris his beloved beard.
Around 30 people attended to watch the shave and the duo have raised more than £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Jade said: “It feels very odd — I’ve never not had hair, so it’s a shock every time I see myself in the mirror.
“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and a massive thank you to Greene King for hosting the event.
“I’d also love to say thank you to Kayleigh Broad and Tiz Bowen who helped to organise it, it really was amazing to be a part of.”

While Jade’s dad shaved the majority of her hair off, the haircut was finished by Aaron, from Chophouse Barbers in Newmarket.
Jade lives at Marham Park and works for St Edmunds Hospital as an operating department practitioner (ODP) and Chris is a driver and dray operative at Greene King.
