Bury St Edmunds and Rickinghall companies join forces to launch new festival of wellness

Two school friends have teamed up to launch a new festival of wellness.

Andrew Swiney and Ed Deakin have created the outdoor summer festival, called Wellness in the Wild, which will be held on land off Mill Lane, Rickinghall, on June 10.

Andrew runs Bury St Edmunds-based wellness company, Mynd, while friend Ed, runs Rickinghall-based Great Event Company.

The pair came up with the idea to join forces at the end of last year.

The stage is now set for the one-day event, which will feature more than 20 wellness instructors and speakers.

"We're really looking forward to it," said Andrew, from Rattlesden.

"I having been running my wellbeing company since 2021, which offers meditation retreat experiences for individuals and workplaces and events.

"Ed has been organising events across the region for more than 20 years and it just seemed the perfect fit for us to jointly arrange the festival in June, which will cater for arounds 350 people."

The festival has been designed to 'celebrate and replenish the mind, body and soul'.

There will be three main tents covering movement, meditation and talks, each with scheduled activities.

There will also be talks throughout the day, as well as wholesome food stalls and a range of therapies available.

Andrew has been practising meditation for over 10 years, and is a certified mindfulness teacher.

Ed creates immersive private parties, weddings, small festivals and fun events, across East Anglia. He also restarted the Rickinghall Village Fair last year.

Tickets cost £60 for adults, and are free for children under 16.

This gives access to all the sessions in the various tents.

"I have really enjoyed working on the festival and hope people will join on the day," said Ed.
