Glasswells, in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds, to hold quiz for SARS
A furniture company will host a quiz in aid of an ‘essential’ charity.
Glasswells, in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds, will run the event in its newly refurbished Place to Eat restaurant on October 23, in aid of Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS).
The charity provides volunteer, immediate advanced care to patients with serious or life-threatening conditions.
Paul Glasswell, managing director, said: “SARS provides an essential but often unseen accident support service.
“The quiz night, where every penny raised will go to SARS, is one way we at Glasswells can help support valued local charities, who in turn provide support for the local community.”
Tickets are £60 per team and includes an arrival drink, charcuterie board and dessert platter.
Kim Turner, SARS volunteer, said: “SARS is extremely grateful to Glasswells for their generosity in hosting this event, including providing the food and drink so that the entire ticket price comes to the charity.
“It's great to have a fun event to raise funds and help keep our responders, who volunteer so many hours each year, on the road.
“We don't receive any central government funding so partnerships like this are so important to us, our patients, and their families.
SARS is an enhanced emergency medical resource providing advanced drugs, equipment, and skills which would not ordinarily be found on frontline resources, supporting the East of England Ambulance Service.
