Thetford Forest free spring clean day will celebrate Earth Day

Thetford Forest is to get a spring clean this weekend and is encouraging people to join a group litter pick.

The popular adventure company Go Ape announced it was supporting a push to clean up the forest’s trails to celebrate this year’s Earth Day.

Victoria Herbert, of Go Ape, said: “If you haven’t quite taken the leap into the wonderful world of litter picking and leaving a positive trace, this is the ideal opportunity.

“Gather your friends and families, pack your picnics and enthusiasm, we’ll see you there.”

The event is organised by Trash Free Trails, which encourages people to clean up plastic from outdoor trails, as part of their Earth Day Spring Clean campaign.

Rachel Coleman, Trash Free Trails communication manager, said: “We can’t wait to bring together runners, riders and roamers for a day of forest cleaning, fun, games and activities for the whole family.”

Those taking part are encouraged to bring water bottles and be prepared for all weathers.
