This year the display features a virtual talking Santa and plenty of bright and unique characters, as well as a post box for children to post their letters to Santa, all of which get a reply.

Mr Buckfield said of the display: "It seems over the years to have become a tradition in Brandon every year for us to put up the lights and we get asked many times starting around November if we are putting the lights up this year, which is lovely.

"We both used to work at Breckland Middle School but are now retired. Some of the children who used to be brought round by their parents to see our lights now bring their own children round to see them, which is also lovely for us too.

"It is a lot of hard work, but really worth it when we see the children's faces outside, when they come to see the lights, and we love to do this for the community every year."
