Historic Lavenham line-up boasts a packed week of gigs for live music and comedy lovers
Music fans are in for a treat as performers prepare to grace the stage of a venue near Sudbury, next month.
OEP Live has lined up a full week of shows being held as part of the Historic Lavenham Theatre performances, in Bridge Street Road, this month.
The first gig is on August 13, with a night celebrating the music of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Cream as Voodoo Room take to the stage.
The power trio will deliver classic rock without the theatrics, featuring some of the UK’s top musicians who have collaborated with Steve Winwood, Massive Attack, and Lulu. Tickets cost £24.75 and you can book them here.
The following night, Clearwater Creedence Revival will be performing the classic rock hits from CCR including Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen The Rain and Fortunate Son.
The tribute band of seasoned musicians Peter Baron, Alan Sagar, Graham Pollock and Geoff Hammond are set to rock the stage with Nik Lowe in the support slot. Tickets start at £32.45 and are available here.
On August 15, the venue will be hosting its fourth annual comedy night, promising a night of non-stop laughs.
Lee Hurst, Julian Deane, Quincy and David Ward will be performing, following on from the venue’s pervious headliners including Ed Bryne, Milton Jones and Chris McCausland. Tickets are £25.85 and can be booked here.
Robert Hart’s Bad Company Legacy is next on the line-up. This show will see the band’s vocalist of seven years Robert Hart joined by lead guitarist Dave Bucket Colwell, who played in the band for 14 years.
The band will be playing Bad Company’s hit songs like Feel Like Makin’ Love, Can’t Get Enough and Rock and Roll Fantasy.
The August 16 performance will be a night to remember, with support from John Fiddler, of Medicine Head, and Danielz, from T-Rextasy. Tickets start at £32.45 and are available here.
On the Saturday, August 17, proceedings start at 1.30pm with a summer afternoon performance from The Carpenters Experience.
Maggie Nestor will be taking on the role as Karen Carpenter as performing the duo’s classic tunes including Close To You, For All We Know, I Won’t Last A Day Without You and Yesterday Once More. Tickets for this performance are £28.05 and you can buy your tickets here.
Later in the evening The Shires, one of the UK’s biggest country duos, will be taking to the stage as part of their intimate acoustic tour.
With four number one country albums and more than 170,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have made their mark on the UK country scene.
They broke through with their single Nashville Grey Skies in 2014 and have since opened for artists including Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town and The Corrs. Tickets are £42.35 and can be bought here.
The week concludes on Sunday, August 18, with The All Or Nothing Experience: The Story of the Small Faces, which tells the story behind one of the most iconic Mod bands of the 1960s.
The show has seen three sell-out tours in the UK and features hits including Itchycoo Park, Lazy Sunday and All Or Nothing.
This is another special matinée performance and will start at 1.30pm. Tickets are £28.05, You can buy your tickets here.
And finally, the line-up is topped off with a night celebrating the music of The Eagles.
Outlaw Eagles: Just Too Busy Being Fabulous will be bringing the greatest hits of the classic rock band to life including Hotel California, Take It Easy, One Of These Nights and Life In The Fast Lane.
The tribute act has been rocking stages for the past eight years and promises to deliver a night of authentic covers. Tickets start at £30.25 and tickets can be purchased here.
The shows offer seated and standing options, as well as tickets for the venue’s picnic area, where attendees can take their own food, pop-up chairs and small tables—though alcohol is not permitted.
