A horse has been rescued by the fire service after falling into a water filled ditch in Hengrave.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue units from Bury St Edmunds and Ixworth were called to a farm in Mill Road at 6.16am this morning where the two-year-old horse, called Splodge, was stuck.

Using a front drag winch and recognised animal rescue techniques they managed to rescue Splodge with the incident being completed by 7.23am.
