West Suffolk Hospital patient with coronavirus dies




A West Suffolk Hospital patient with coronavirus has died.

The patient at the Bury St Edmunds hospital was in their 80s and had underlying health conditions.

In a statement confirming the death today, Dr Stephen Dunn, chief executive at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with their family and loved ones at this difficult time."

It takes the total number of coronavirus-related deaths at the trust, since the start of the pandemic, to 82.

According to latest figures, as of yesterday, there have been 544 Covid-19 cases in West Suffolk since the outbreak began with 357 in Mid Suffolk, 288 in Babergh, 737 in Ipswich and 924 in East Suffolk.
