LEARN MOREWest Suffolk chief executive Stephen Dunn attended the opening of the Rambling Rose coffee house and bistro in Ixworth.
The venture is the brainchild of Ben Lord and his sister Emma and is named after Beryl Rose, their grandmother.
Beryl was treated at West Suffolk Hospital and Ben has raised around £40,000 for the Arthrose Appeal as Beryl was treated at the hospital.
The name Rambling Rose comes from Beryl's citizens band call sign.
Consultant surgeon Soren Sjolin attended the launch as did Sue Smith from the My WiSH charity and there were vintage songs from The Nightingales.
The coffee shop and bistro will offer a range of foods and cream teas. Ben and Emma hope to open a bistro three nights a week later in the month. A contribution from every hot beverage will go to the Arthrose Appeal over the next 12 months.
