Children thanked for helping get Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre started
With Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre now underway, schoolchildren have been thanked for their role in helping get the event started.
Six town schools were involved in building giant puppets, which on Thursday evening (November 21) paraded through the centre before reaching Angel Hill.
Following the childrens’ parade, a fireworks display began at the Abbey Gardens - where Christmas market stalls were waiting, as were reindeer and Father Christmas, who managed to fit Bury into a busy schedule.

The parade was sponsored by Countryside, the developer behind the Marham Park estate in Bury St Edmunds.
Andrew Carrington at Countryside, said: “We are pleased to have sponsored this year’s Christmas parade, one of the highlights in Bury every year.
“As in previous years, it was an excellent way to spark the Christmas spirit and inaugurate the Christmas Fayre.
“Well done to all the schoolchildren who, for one afternoon, transformed Bury into a beautiful sea of colour with their imaginative creations.”
