Football fan in desperate search for family heirloom lost following East Anglian Derby at Portman Road and could be in Ipswich, Stowmarket or Bury St Edmunds
A football fan is in a desperate search to find a missing family heirloom that once belonged to his grandfather.
Samir Osman, 33, lost a gold signet ring on Sunday, while away to to watch the East Anglian Derby at Portman Road in Ipswich.
Mr Osman travelled to both Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds on the day and believed it could be in any of the three towns.
He is offering a £50 reward for anyone who reunites him with it.
He said: “The ring was my grandfather’s, who had Alzheimer’s disease, and I’m desperate to get it back. It is priceless and precious to me.
“I am frantically searching for it. I lost it on Sunday so it could be anywhere by now, it could be in Stowmarket, it could be in Ipswich or it could be in Bury.
“I wanted to thank everyone so far who has helped me, especially the team at Portman Road, who have been nothing short of really helpful.”
Mr Osman felt the most likely location where the ring fell off was at Stowmarket train station, where he got off from the 2.15pm train to Bury from Ipswich.
He recalled a woman recognising him and his mum there and was keen to get in touch with her, in case she witnessed it go missing.
In Ipswich, the ring was likely to be at either Portman Road stadium or the route to the train station, in Burrell Road, Mr Osman said.
As for Bury, it could be at Nando’s, the Cattle Market car park or around the arc Shopping Centre.
Mr Osman, of Isleham, works in Bury town centre and was wearing a pink and brown coat when the ring went missing.
He is a Norwich fan and would have been in the away stands during the match.
Anyone who knows the location of the ring, where it could be, or where Mr Osman should start looking should get in touch with him at samir.osman15@yahoo.co.uk.
