Friends launch Luna Wolf Wellness, a new women-only gym based at Risby Business Park, Risby, near Bury St Edmunds

Friends have joined forces to launch a gym with a difference.

Amy Hough and Abbie Marshall held their first group sessions at Luna Wolf Wellness on Monday.

The gym, at Risby Business Park, Risby, near Bury St Edmunds, is for women only and offers an all-round approach to women’s health.

“It’s definitely not your typical gym,” said Amy.

“Many gyms are very industrial looking and can be intimidating, especially for women.

“Our gym has the usual equipment including free weights, squat racks, cardio equipment – but the design is much softer.

“We have used pale colours, plants and overall it has a much more feminine feel, to create balance.”

Luna Wolf Wellness offers group sessions for up to eight women at a time.

Amy, 38, and Abbie, 29, who are both trained and experienced personal coaches, then work with individual members within the group.

“The sessions are designed for people of all ages and abilities,” said Amy.

“We are very specialised even tailoring courses, even for example, women going through the menopause.

“Throughout the coming year we will also be holding workshops with experts from
different fields.

“We already have a yoga instructor but will work with other wellness providers such as nutritionists for all-round health.”

The gym also offers a community atmosphere in which women can support each other on their wellbeing journey.

Amy said: “Joining our group training sessions means becoming part of a supportive community of like-minded women.

“It means members can encourage and motivate each other as they push towards their fitness goals, celebrating achievements and overcoming challenges together.”

Feedback for the gym has been positive.

“We have spoken to dozens of women during the process of setting up and 95 per cent have welcomed the idea.

“We are unique in that we offer a dedicated facility for women and are excited for the future.”
