The arc Shopping Centre, in Bury St Edmunds, welcomed a touch of cold this week with an ice palace and a colony of penguin activities.

Charter Square saw parents and children queuing up around the block to get inside the pop-up giant inflatable igloo to take part in the penguin-themed treats.

A range of penguin crafts were on offer including making penguin artwork, face painting and a penguin-inspired map treasure trail. The free activities also gave everyone the chance to have their pictures taken with two penguin characters as well.

Abbie Panks, manager of The arc, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people visiting the ice-palace on Monday. The meet and greet with the penguins, crafts and trail were all incredibly popular and saw hundreds of children and their families kick-start half-term in the arc.”
