SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 - BOB DORE PRESENTS (Old Bell, Sahem Toney, nr. Watton, Norfolk, 3.30pm) Long-established East Anglian drummer hosts a lunchtime jazz session in Norfolk.
ANDY BOWIE QUARTET (Tram Shed, Cambridge, 8.30, free) Tenor saxophone-playing philosophy professor leads a quartet presenting a connoisseur’s choice from the modern jazz repertoire.
MONDAY, AUGUST 10 - OPEN MIC NIGHT/JAM (Maddermarket Theatre Bar, Norwich, doors 7pm, music 8pm, £5/free to participants. Details: norwichjazzclub.co.uk) All musicians and vocalists welcome to this supportive and friendly monthly open mic/jazz jam, with your resident hosts Simon Brown (piano), Ivars Galenieks (bass) and Brian McAllister (drums).
