Josie Barber, assistant manager of The Tollgate, in Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds, to take on St Nicholas Hospice Care Fire Walk

The assistant manager of a pub which is hosting a charity fire walk will take on the challenge herself, having raised nearly £200.

Josie Barber, of Bury St Edmunds, will step up for the St Nicholas Hospice Care Fire Walk at The Tollgate, in Fornham Road, on November 21.

The event as a whole so far has raised £1,370 for the charity, of which Josie is responsible for £190.

She said: “I just thought why not, let’s just do it. It’ll be an experience and something to tick off the bucket list.”

Josie originally had a target of £100, and despite smashing that she just wants to ‘keep going’ with the fund-raising.

She said St Nicholas Hospice was a worthwhile cause as it helps everyone that needs it.
