Still time to donate to Bury St Edmunds Gatehouse Christmas Appeal to help those in need
It’s your last chance to donate to the Gatehouse Christmas Appeal to help ensure children and families have a magical Christmas.
Gatehouse, working with the Bury Free Press, is looking for donations of non-perishable food and, this year, also needs new unopened toiletry gift sets as well as underwear and pyjamas for children and adults.
The Bury St Edmunds charity, which runs a foodbank, is also looking to secure funding to buy gas and electricity vouchers and fill oil tanks for families and individuals to get them over the festive period, particularly with growing food bills.
It is also appealing for local businesses to come forward and donate cash.
The deadline for donations is Monday and they can be dropped off at Gatehouse, in Dettingen Way, as well as the Bury Free Press office, in King’s Road.
Gatehouse chief executive Amanda Bloomfield said: “It’s great to see how many people have stepped up to the challenge. Thanks for everything you’ve done so far. We’re still very busy in the run up to Christmas and your help is needed more than ever this year. Please give if you can.”
Gatehouse will also host a Christmas Day lunch at St Benedict’s Catholic School for people who would otherwise be on their own.
Anyone who is interested should call Amanda on 01284 754967 or email info@gatehouse.org.uk
