Latest coronavirus statistics show an increase in case rate in East Suffolk, Mid Suffolk and West Suffolk, as Babergh and Ipswich decrease




The number of Covid-19 cases in three Suffolk districts has risen over the last week, while the remaining two districts saw a drop in cases.

Babergh had the lowest number of weekly cases, with 129 lab-confirmed positives.

Ipswich also saw a decline, with 290 cases reported in the week leading up to August 8.

However, Mid, West and East Suffolk all saw increases in case rate last week.

Mid Suffolk reported 175 positives, while West Suffolk had 404 confirmed cases and East Suffolk had 491.

As of 8 August there have been 39,252 total lab-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Suffolk.

In total there have been 5156.3 cases of the virus per 100,000 people.

This remains the lowest overall Covid-19 case rate in the East of England.
