Woolpit's Process Instrument Sales wins contract from new Treatt development at Suffolk Park

Process Instrument Sales , the leading provider of high-quality instrumentation, based in Woolpit, Suffolk, has won a large contract to supply all the process instrumentation and valves for the new Treatt development which will become its global headquarters, at Suffolk Park, Bury St Edmunds.

The development represents the most significant investment for Treatt in the 130-year history of the firm, which manufactures and supplies ingredients to the flavour, fragrance and consumer goods markets.

Process Instruments, working with Siemens as the supplier, will install, calibrate and service instrumentation at the plant. This will include providing all the sensors to ensure quality and precision across all lines of production.

The site will include laboratories, offices, manufacturing and distillation facilities, with Process Instrument Sale's work starting in the autumn.

We have been working with Treatt for over 20 years and know the importance of providing precision instrument technology for them as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the site to ensure the highest accuracies and standards are met.”

For Process Instrument Sales the win comes on top of a period of significant growth for the company which has seen it employ two more people, investing in new calibration and test equipment over the past few months and relocating to bigger offices despite the lockdown.

The Treatt development is within a 68-hectare extension to the Suffolk Park , one of 10 sites in New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership's (LEP) Space to Innovate Enterprise Zone.

The aim is to create a successful business environment for companies in the digital and new media, food and agriculture and high-value manufacturing clusters.

Process Instrument Sales is one of Siemens Process Instrumentation Official Technical Partners and much of the instrumentation for the Treatt site will be manufactured by them.
