Stansfield Village Hall near Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds to host special screening of Kindling including cast members from Peaky Blinders and Sex Education
A village hall in Suffolk will host a special screening of a new feature film starring cast members from Peaky Blinders and Sex Education.
Stansfield Village Hall, near Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds, will host a special screening of a new feature film, Kindling, at 7pm on Friday, August 25.
The film is set in rural England and was shot in Suffolk and Essex and the locations used include the Stansfield Compasses (inside and out); Chevington Hall and Hawkedon.
While filming locally in 2021, the cast and crew took over Stansfield Village Hall to use as their base and because of Stansfield’s unique location status, the film’s distributor Signature Entertainment granted permission to show the film at the hall.
Inspired by true events, Kindling follows a group of young men who return to their hometown to turn their friend Sid’s final summer into a celebration of life, love and friendship.
With his obsession for astronomy and the atmosphere, Sid, portrayed by Sex Education star George Somner, comes up with a plan to bring everyone together and make their summer unforgettable.
The film also stars Conrad Khan (County Lines, Peaky Blinders), Wilson Mbomio (The Witcher) and Mia McKenna-Bruce (Persuasion) and Tara Fitzgerald (Brassed Off, Waking the Dead).
Kindling is also written and directed by Connor O’Hara in his feature directorial debut and the film was highlighted in Glamour magazine’s 9 Best British Films of 2023 list.
Tickets are £5 and are available from ticketsource.co.uk/stansfield-village-hall.
Alternatively, you can buy them on the door.
