A134 between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds to be shut after lorry hits power line

A major road between two Suffolk towns will be shut after a lorry hit a power line and left the area without electricity.

Police were alerted at 9.10am today to the collision on the A134 in Bradfield Combust.

A lorry left the road between Chapel Road and Ixer Lane and hit a power line.

The road was partially closed and UK Power Networks engineers attended.

Engineers have since restored power to most affected properties.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said the road is due to be fully closed between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds to allow for recovery of the vehicle.
