Westley Road in Bury St Edmunds closed after car rolls onto its roof in crash




One person was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a collision in a major road in Bury St Edmunds.

Police, the fire service and paramedics were alerted when a Mercedes-Benz rolled onto its roof in Westley Road after a crash.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called at 10.07am and two crews attended.

A fire service spokeswoman said there were two casualties with one person trapped and rescued by crews.

Another person managed to get out of the car themselves.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said one person was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said a man suffered a hand injury and a woman suffered a head injury.

The road was closed.
